Dr. Aaron Gootzeit
Dr. Aaron Gootzeit was born and raised in the New York City Metropolitan area. He graduated from Mount Vernon High school where he participated in a variety of extra-curricular activities. In addition to being part of the stage crew for the drama department, he also played several sports. Eventually, he focused on baseball and continued playing at Grambling State University. After his sophomore year, Dr. Gootzeit (Dr. G), transferred to Louisiana Tech University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Kinesiology. While at Louisiana Tech, he was introduced to rugby and the world of strength and conditioning/human performance. These quickly became his passions and led him down a new life path.
Dr. Gootzeit helped lead the Louisiana Tech University Rugby Club to their first league championship in over 10 years. He also pursued a career in strength and conditioning through the Louisiana Tech master’s program. He completed the M.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sport Performance, served as the graduate assistant for Health and Wellness, was the assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Baseball and Rugby teams, and served on several department’s sponsored research projects.
Alongside his graduate program, Dr. G earned an internship with Tiger Rugby, which is a USA Rugby Olympic Development Academy. They offer full time residency programs, national and regional identification camps, and other programming. Following his internship, he became the head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Tiger rugby. He took pride in preparing numerous elite rugby players for international and professional tryouts and sending others to high caliber collegiate programs. He even organized and ran the Clemson University rugby Strength and Conditioning program while also being their assistant coach.
Dr. G is always looking to serve his clientele to the highest capacity. He realized as a strength and conditioning coach that his athletes needed treatments and care modalities that were outside of his scope. Being the go-getter he is, he investigated ways to expand and solve this problem. This problem was solved when he was with Clemson Rugby at the Collegiate Rugby Championship tournament where he was introduced to Chiropractic. Within a month, he was enrolled and attending classes at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He was determined to maximize human potential and recovery in not only athletes, but all people.
While at Palmer College, Dr. G was the school’s rugby Strength and Conditioning coach, player, and a member of the Sports Chiropractic Club. During the clinical portion of his education, Dr. G was an intern in the rehab department. He was able to refine his skills in various corrective exercise and soft tissue modalities that helped patients avoid surgeries and get back to the activities they loved! He truly has found the best balance of preventative care, corrective care, rehabilitative care, and strength building with his athletic experience and newfound degree in Chiropractic!
Dr. G is excited to be a part of the HFC team and Santa Rosa community. He looks forward to serving the population here with his many talents and expertise. It gets him excited to help them to stay healthy, active, and engaged in the activities they enjoy!
